Backend PHP Developer

Job Description

This role will be crucial for the on-going enhancement and maintenance of the MILWAUKEE regional website platform (Wordpress) for multiple countries. This role will work extensively with HQ in Hong Kong and regional stakeholders.

• Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
• Write “clean”, well-designed code
• Produce detailed specifications
• Delivering work on time and according to specifications
• Work with other developers on your team and your team lead.
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Communicate regular with your team and the rest of the company
• Contribute to the development roadmap
• Work in an agile project environment with a team of developers

Requirements

Academic and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma holder in Computer Science, Computing, Information Technology or related discipline
• 2+ years experience in PHP Web Development
• In-depth understanding of engineering with WordPress and WooCommerce
• Experience building custom plugins and managing 3rd party plugins
• Ability to debug your own code and that of others
• Experience in using debugging tools
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and full understanding of modern HTTP specifications
• Ability to set up local development environments
• Experience with Git Workflows and version control
• In-depth understanding of security considerations
• Experience with AWS
• Knowledge of mySQL database including querying, stored procedures, etc., is a plus
• Practical minded with the aptitude and willingness to learn quickly
