Description:

The Manager of Corporate Communications will lead the organizations communications team and will develop and implement internal and external communication strategies for the organization to ensure that unified, consistent, and positive messages define and promote the corporate identity and mission.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to promote and positively represent the organization through internal and external communication.

Develops and implements policies and procedures for communicating on behalf of the organization that represents the corporate identity, and promotes and supports the organization’s mission.

Oversees the workflow and work assignments of the communications team to ensure effective collaboration among team members and consistent, quality work.

Drafts proposals for special communications projects-presents on and promotes these projects to management.

Prepares and delivers presentations in the company to share information.

Represents the company in a variety of settings, always promoting the company in the best possible way.

Responsible for community engagement and mass communications in terms of all written company related articles such as advertorial, write-up, bulletin, media materials prior to publication

Ensure proper crisis communication guidelines/manual/plans are implemented and executed.

Establish good media relations and ensure a substantial level of publicity to meet corporate objectives

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Able to use tact and professionalism including in times of extreme stress.

Able to adapt and respond to difficult questions and issues.

Able to think creatively or work strategically and systematically, with impeccable judgement and discretion

Able to work independently, mature in thinking, pro-active with strong leadership skills

 

 

Education and Experience:

• Minimum Degree holder in relevant tertiary qualifications (Journalism, Public Relations, Communications)

• At least 5-7 years of experience in communications field required, preferably with business desk specialisation
