Description:
The key duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
End of month
Co-ordination of end of month close to achieve reporting deadlines
Preparing end of month journals and analysis e.g. contingent consideration, share based payments, incentives,
Preparation of prepayment and accrual schedules
Maintenance of the fixed assets register
Maintenance of Lease accounting schedules as per IFRS / AASB 16
Resolving queries from Finance team members
Analysing financial transactions, and addressing any identified issues
Preparing timely, accurate and commercially relevant financial accounting information to management
Preparing schedules for financial reporting in accordance with management and statutory requirements
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and proactively resolving outstanding items
Financial statements and audit (half-year, year-end)
Participation in the audit process to ensure achievement of reporting deadlines
Collation of financial information in accordance with audit requirements
Preparation of interim and annual statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS/AASB
Preparing supporting disclosures, calculations and analysis ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Preparation of technical advice and review of accounting policies to ensure accounting methodology adopted is appropriate to meet the needs of the business
Taxation
o Maintenance of the tax fixed asset register and calculating tax depreciation
Other
Ensuring adherence to internal controls of the Group
Driving process improvement and development of better practice,
Streamlining and automating financial reporting processes to achieve improvements in quality of reporting and consistently meet reporting deadlines
Responsible for the maintenance of Verbrec Group’s chart of accounts to ensuring accurate accounting of all assets, liabilities, income and expenses of the organisation
Preparation of regular reports and other related management information as directed
