CHIEF MECHANIC

JOB OBJECTIVES:

Maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the company vehicles and ensuring that vehicles are reliable and safe to use.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø Ensures maintenance and repairs of all company vehicles by specifically following the process:

1.   Reviews requests for vehicular repair (MRF Form) and check the specific vehicle requiring repairs.

2.   Manages and supervises Assistant Mechanics’ in maintenance and repairs task. Must ensure adherence to safe working conditions and occupational health and safety regulations.

3.   Inspects the quality and condition of the vehicles repaired whether still needing preventive and predictive maintenance before turning it over to the user.

Ø  Maintains and updates records of maintenance and repairs logs;

Ø  Monitors vehicular checklist compliance; and

Ø  Makes recommendations on the specification of the tools and vehicular parts needed for the repairs.
