Wintel Engineer (infra and virtual)

■ Description of business in JRI Philippine branch

The JRI Philippine branch covers developments, maintenance, and operations of IT systems for SMFG group companies to catch up with robust IT requirements in the group and to enlarge IT development capacity with skillful IT resources from off-shore centers. 
The Philippine branch is the first captive off-shore IT center of SMFG.
It will start with development projects and operations for Japan HQ and Singapore branches due to the limited availability of IT resources. JRI expects the Philippine site to provide project resources, and contribute to the following areas.
 System development and testing services for banking applications and internal applications to SMFG group companies
 Developments and testing services of cloud services supporting the group’s SDG initiatives
 IT platform / Infrastructure support services
 Desktop support services

As a starting member of the Philippine branch, we expect the person to be a bridge between Japan HQ, Singapore, and the Philippines.
There will be business trips to Japan and build their career and experience with us.
As a manager, we expect the person to manage other members of the team as well. 

■ Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Wintel Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing/maintaining the Windows-based infrastructure and virtual environments, particularly within the financial and banking industry. This role requires strong technical skills in Windows systems, storage solutions, and cloud administration.

 *   The candidate is responsible for managing Wintel IT Infrastructure, systems support, applications, and telecommunications which support the needs of the Singapore office and all other Regional Branches.
  *   Maintain various Windows system updates and anti-virus services
  *   Resolve and conduct RCA of system outage or failure

■ Key Responsibilities:
・System Administration and Maintenance:
 Manage and maintain Windows servers (Windows 2012, Windows 2016, Windows 2019).
 Administer and support Windows Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
 Ensure system performance, availability, and security.

・Virtualization Management:
 Administer and manage virtual environments using VMware and other virtualization technologies.
  Monitor and optimize virtual machine performance.

・Storage Management:
 Manage storage solutions, including Hitachi, Nutanix, and IBM storage systems.
 Ensure data integrity, availability, and performance of storage systems.

・Cloud Administration:
 Utilize Microsoft Azure for cloud-based infrastructure management.
 Implement and manage Azure resources as needed.

・Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
 Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Windows server environments and storage systems.
 Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve issues and improve system performance.

・Security and Compliance:
 Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data.
 Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, particularly within the financial and banking sectors.

・Documentation and Reporting:
 Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
 Generate regular reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions.

■ Below are the examples of the actual systems/apps planned for development/testing:
 Web service for calculating/reducing CO2 emissions for Japanese companies (Web)
 Payment system for SMBC APAC branch (particularly for Indonesia initially) (.Net)
 CRM system for use within SMBC in Japan and overseas (Salesforce)

■ Technologies：
a) Cloud services like Amazon web services, and Microsoft Azure including Microsoft 365 and Power Platform
b) Programming languages: Java, .Net, and other major script languages
c) Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL, etc.
d) Other market products of banking applications

Requirements:
  *   Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  *   MCSE or equivalent
  *   Microsoft Azure Administrator Certified.

Experience:
     *   Minimum 5 years of working experience in Wintel /VM in the financial / banking industry
     *   Competent in Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows 2012, Windows 2016, Windows 2019
     *   Competent with Hitachi, Nutanix, and IBM storage systems
